Select wins at Jefferson Cup Invitational
Peninsula Cellars Wins Cup
Peninsula Cellars 2006 Select Riesling took home a Jefferson Cup from this very prestigious wine competition.
The Jefferson Cup Invitational, now in its ninth year, is the only competition that honors the best of the best among wineries from all of America’s wine regions. Unlike other wine competitions, wineries must be invited to compete in the Jefferson Cup. The 2008 competition included 700 wines from thirty states. The two-day competition culminated with the awarding of SEVENTEEN Jefferson Cup Awards. These seventeen prestigious Jefferson Cups were awarded this year to one sparkling wine, five white wines, nine red wines and two dessert wines.
Peninsula Cellars Select Riesling 2006, was awarded one of the five white wine cups. We are honored to receive this recognition, particularly due to the unprecedented integrity, and format of this competition, which many call "The Olympics" of wine competitions, as only the best of the best wines are invited to participate.
This wine is our current vintage and should be available at wine shops and restaurants throughout Michigan. If you have trouble finding it, please request it from your favorite retailer. The full press release from the competition is available to download at the bottom of the page.
